Challenge : New design for civil UAV to scan industrial areas for perimeter security, thermal mapping, leak detection, emergency response and structural inspection. Size Weight and Power (SWaP) from commercially available (CoTS) technology. Reliability was also key as this formed part of a Safety Critical System (SCS).

Solution: Reliable and cost effective Datamate Mix-Tek with high power contacts – up to 40A.

Project: Defense & security UAV battery power connection.

Challenge : UAV platform with cameras and sensors for surveillance and security applications for threat detection, tracking ground assets, disaster management, search and rescue, crowd control operating up to 4,500 meters with temperature and humidity certification required continuous 60A current through a cable-to-board connection with solder cups on the cable connector.

Solution: Kona 2-contact female cable connector mated to the male PCB connector for high-reliability 60A connection. The PCB connector is on the battery side, making the battery easy to disconnect and replace when required.
